Question by fladabosco: Career advice for musician?
I am a musician and teacher and have a few mornings a week free and was wondering if any of you have advice about what I could do on those mornings. I have enough time to practice.
I have experience as a technical lead and manager at a major software company, although it was a long time ago. I took 45,000 technical support phone calls there. I wrote and delivered training and wrote over 600 technical articles.
I did a lot of database and some financial work at the software company. I manage my family?s investments and know a lot of the basics. I occasionally buy and sell options, have some bonds, etc. I am not an expert but an enthusiast. I worked in the flower business for a year buying directly from farmers. When I was young I cooked in a very expensive French restaurant and still cook a lot. Right now I teach part time at a major university and do lot of performing and coaching.
Sorry for the long post and I appreciate any suggestions. I am doing fine as a musician but would like to dive into something else for those free hours.
Thanks
Fladabosco

I would recommend something along the same musical lines. Writing music for films or TV (rather than from your own inspiration) could be a challenge, but also financially rewarding.
Just a thought.
Good luck.
