It's been reported that Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is planning to enter the NFL Draft. However, he hasn't announced that decision yet.
CBS Sports Charley Casserly reported Sunday that a decision will come next week, likely as early as Tuesday after Griffin meets with Baylor coach Art Briles.
"[Briles] told me he talked to Griffin last week," Casserly reported on The NFL Today. "Griffin is going to think about this weekend and they're going to come back and meet on Tuesday. At that point, Coach Briles told me Griffin will make his decision to stay in school or come out."
Griffin won the Heisman Trophy this season and led Baylor one of the best seasons in school history; certainly the best since Baylor last finished ranked in 1986.
RG3's stock is about as high as it could get and he'd be by far the consensus No. 2 quarterback in the Draft (behind only Stanford's Andrew Luck) if he left school and went pro.
Additionally, there are a number of quarterback-needy teams out there right now, and with the St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings holding the No. 2 and No. 3 picks in the Draft, respectively, there's a good chance that someone like the Redskins or Browns could trade up to nab Griffin, making him a top-three pick.
Absolutely worst case for Griffin? He goes at No. 6 to Washington, where many people believe he'd fit nicely in Mike Shanahan's offense.
Of course, if you ask NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang or Dane Brugler, he won't even make it that far -- they both have him going No. 4 overall to the Browns in our latest 2012 NFL Mock Drafts.
